AI for Young Entrepreneurs
: A prelude to the formation of CEAI @ Brunei
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei , 2 January 2022 – We are pleased to announce our entry into the Brunei market through a series of awareness programmes on AI for Non-Technical Personnel, as a prelude to the formation of CEAI @ Brunei that will be fully-ready by end-March 2022.
CEAI @ Brunei will form part of the global network of the Centre for AI Innovation to promote, educate and implement social innovation along with the UN’s SDG 17 mission . Our purpose is to co-create AI technology with strategic partners to enrich the lives of individuals, organisations and societies – and make them digitally ready to face the opportunities and challenges brought about by IR4.0. We empower diverse people with critical tech and social skills that are essential to thrive in the digital economy.
Emerging Technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) are reshaping the world with enormous impact on economy and jobs. A McKinsey report states: ‘AI has the potential to deliver additional global economic activity of around $13 trillion by 2030.’ In addition, according to the World Economic Forum, AI could create 97 million new jobs by 2025, with roles like data analysts and scientists, AI and machine learning specialists, and big data specialists.
Prof M Nazri, who is the Founding Chairman of CEAI Global, a social enterprise unit of MyFinB Group, states,
“Unlocking the power of AI requires skills and preparation. We want to develop the majority of people who are non-technical, e.g. youth, general workers and citizens to be ‘AI-Ready’ and actively participate in and benefit from a digital economy.”
He adds, “AI-Readiness refers to a holistic combination of analytical skills, trust, and abilities required for people to use technology responsibly and create decisioning tools with predictive and prescriptive capabilities so that it generates broad socio-economic benefits.
“The AI-ready initiative, administered and managed by CEAI@Brunei, forms an important piece of the puzzle and strongly supports the strategies for Brunei to become a Smart Nation that has a digital and future-ready society, vibrant and sustainable economy as well as a conducive digital ecosystem.”

CEAI @ Brunei provides a special, highly-subsidized programmes for anyone to learn, build and deploy AI systems under 3 months, without the need for them to know programming, coding or having a technical background. This programme is called the Certification in Applied AI (CAAI) and is regarded as the world’s first 3-in-1 programme that turns them into AI Authors without any technical background, by converting their knowledge into RoboAdvisors in any discipline.
CEAI @ Brunei intends to attract SMEs and youth entrepreneurs that are in line with Brunei’s Digital Economy Council that focuses on the implementation of projects under nine priority clusters, which are: logistics and transportation, energy, business services, tourism; financial services, health; agri-food; education and halal.
According to the Country Programme Director, Mr Mukhriz Mangsor,
“The AI-Ready programme comes at an opportune time where it acts as the enabler and facilitator for innovation. The programme not only offers the platform to nurture MSME and youths talent and promote innovation, but it also presents the opportunity to take collective actions to address areas for improvement in pain points identified within the industry. It provides the right skill sets in order to create business opportunities for MSMEs and employability for the youths in the wave of shifting challenges and most importantly, the need for Brunei Darussalam to be prepared for this global technological paradigm shift.”
He explains, “A simple 1-2-3 steps are needed for Bruneians to prepare for the challenging future ahead. First, understand the pain points of the industry and map out the solution. Secondly, enroll in an AI programme such as CAAI and become an author of the AI. Lastly, proved their concept to be workable and acceptable for the social community in general. For the past decades, those with technological & digital literacy could well outperform under any market condition even during the crisis such as the recent Covid-19 pandemics.”
